It is important to organize your study time from the beginning of the school year, so we want to share an easy way to get organized in just five steps:
1.- Write key dates in your planner. π
It is important to have a personal planner or a calendar, whether on paper or in digital format.
Write down:
- Vacations
- Schedules and the days you have extracurricular activities
- Exams
- Due dates for homework, assignments, or class projects
This way, you will keep track of key dates and appointments and can organize yourself to do homework, finish assignments, or study for exams on time.
2.- Set daily goals. π
Plan your time day by day. Set out the activities or tasks you want to finish that day, and mark or note the content and topics in each subject you need to review or study.
Always keep in mind the dates marked on your calendar, both for exams and assignment deadlines, so you can properly distribute the time available to achieve your objective. Prioritize urgent topics, but also devote weekly study time to reviewing each subject's content.
3.- Establish a schedule. β°
It is important to study at the same time every day to establish a routine and get used to meeting daily objectives. During your study time, first do the activities or assignments due soonest, then spend about 45 minutes studying or reviewing the topics covered in class. We recommend always taking a five-minute break between activities.
4. Allocate study time for each subject. β³
To organize yourself more effectively, set aside more time for the most complex subjects, those you find harder or that require more effort to understand. You can start with the most complicated tasks or content, since you will be less tired, and leave the simplest for last. Another good technique is alternating more complex or demanding tasks with ones you find more entertaining and motivating.
5.- Be consistent. πͺ
The best way to improve study planning and organization is to persevere. So even if it is difficult at first, study every day, try to meet the goals you have set, and stick to your schedule. You will see your work pay off. But if one day you cannot complete the hours or review all the planned content, do not worry or become discouraged; readjust your plan and return to it with renewed energy the next day.
